Delta: Police Recovers Abandoned Vehicle, Burst Hideout Of Kidnappers

A Safer Highway Patrol team of the Delta State Police Force recovered an abandoned Highlander jeep at about 7 p.m. on Friday, September 4.

In a press release made available to CEOAFRICA, the team, while on patrol at Onicha Ugbo/Ewhohimi Road recovered the ash colored Toyota Highlander jeep with Registration Number GWA 842 SJ and later gathered on further investigation that the vehicle belonged to a Bishop of Gwagwalada Diocese in Abuja who was waylaid and kidnapped somewhere in Edo State enroute to Onitsha.

The whereabouts of the Bishop identified as Moses Tabwaye remains unknown as at the time of filing this report. The case has however been transferred to the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad who are closing up on the hoodlums for possible rescue of the Bishop and arrest of the kidnappers.

In the same vein, acting on a tip off, a team of Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad operatives stormed the lair of some kidnappers who held hostage of a manager of First Bank Plc identified as Mr. Ekwuabu Lawrence.

The raid which was executed in the early hours of Saturday, September 5, was at Obetim forest in Kwale area.

Mr. Ekwuabu Lawrence who had been kidnapped since Thursday, September 3 was successfully rescued, unscathed while the alleged hoodlums escaped arrest by a close shave.

Investigation has nevertheless been intensified in view to arrest the fleeing hoodlums.
