From Zambia, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the ongoing strike action of nurses at the University Teaching Hospital has entered day two.

Nurses and midwives at the country’s highest referral health centre are protesting the meager salary increment granted to them following the reported civil service salary increments.

The striking workers say the four percent increment was a far cry from the 200 percent increment that the government professed in public.

A similar protest is underway in Western Province where it has entered day three.

Nurses and midwives have vowed not to resume until their demands are met.
