Super Eagles striker, Gbolahan Salami, says the team is not willing to compromise with the Pharaohs of Egypt as he is upbeat of Eagles' chances of picking the Group G's sole ticket for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Salami was on the score-sheet when Nigeria defeated Chad 2-0 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna in the team's opening qualifying fixture. However, passport hitches hampered his inability to feature in the 0-0 draw away to Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam early this month.
Nigeria and Egypt, it will be recalled, will play a double header early next year in matches that may ultimately decide the eventual leaders of the group.
Despite the three-time champions sitting second on four points behind leaders, Egypt, which is on six points on the log, Salami insists that the Super Eagles will make up for its failure not to qualify for the last edition by beating Egypt to the sole ticket.
"I am sincerely confident that the team will qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon. Though the current standings favours Egypt, it is the end that will justify which team will top the group.
"Without mincing words, the Super Eagles will rattle and dent Pharaohs' Nations Cup ambition. Every player is seriously working hard to ensure that we pick the sole ticket to Gabon.
