Nigeria’s Super Eagles have maintained their 26th position in the latest men’s FIFA World Rankings, released on Thursday.

Under the guidance of coach Éric Chelle, the three-time African champions participated in the Unity Cup invitational tournament in London last month, securing a 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe and a 3-0 win against Jamaica.

In June, Nigeria also played two international friendlies, drawing 2-2 with Poland in Warsaw before falling 2-1 to Portugal in Leiria.

In the African standings, the Super Eagles retained third place, behind Morocco’s Atlas Lions and Senegal’s Teranga Lions. Algeria’s Desert Foxes and Egypt’s Pharaohs round out the continent’s top five.

Globally, the top five teams remain unchanged, with reigning world champions Argentina at the summit, followed by Spain, France, England, and Portugal.

FIFA is set to release the next rankings on Monday, July 20.
