FG TO LAUNCH ICT CLASS FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT IN SCIENCE CAREERS

The Federal Government announces it would launch Information Communication Technology (ICT) class for girls so as to develop their interest in pursuing science-related careers.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Communication Technology, Omobola Johnson in Abuja on Tuesday at the ongoing 53rd council meeting and 11th annual conference for Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO), tagged ‘Innovation through Broadband.’

CEOAFRICA news desk gathered from the statement of Johnson that the target for the ICT class was to improve and empower more women in ICT.

She emphasized that the forum was also to ensure the provision of affordable Internet connection for the people and empower Nigerian women in ICT usage.
