Popular Nigerian actress, Doris Simeon, is currently working on a short film titled Victims, which is aimed at addressing some societal ills. However, since she hinted the public about her new project, she has been dubbed a copycat because the title of her new project is close to Mercy Aigbe-Gentry’s latest flick, The Victim.

The critics are of the opinion that Simeon chose a similar title because of the success Aigbe’s movie is currently enjoying. However, the fair-skinned actress in a telephone chat, told Saturday Beats that it was only a coincidence.

She added that both movie titles are different and that everyone has a right to their opinion.

“The movie titles are not the same but people would always talk. The name of her movie is The Victim and mine is Victims. I am not riding on the fame of her movie because our movies are even different in structure. Mercy’s film is a full length movie while mine is a short film aimed at addressing some issues we face in the country. People would always talk and there is freedom of speech. Let them keep talking,” she said.
