INNOVATIVE AFRICA SUMMIT TO HOLD IN GARBORONE BY OCT 15-17

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MOESD) will host Innovation Africa Summit in Gaborone from October 15-17.

According to the Minister of Education, Dr.Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, the summit would serve as a platform for exchange of ideas and benchmarking of the best practice as well as forming of networks among practitioners.

Dr. Venson-Moitoi also said the summit would also bring together various stakeholders in education along with the private sector with a focus on innovation and the use of ICT in teaching and learning.

She noted that the key issues for discussion would focus on ICT for education, technologies, standards, e-learning and m-learning, curriculum development and teacher training, communications infrastructure, broadband last mile connectivity.

“Hosting the conference would bring added benefits to the country’s education system by facilitating exchange of innovative and researched ideas on the use of ICT in education and also cutting edge technologies and methodologies in teaching and learning,” the minister said.
