NIMC to take National ID to Grassroots

CEOAFRICA gathered that the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) sets to issue every Citizen and all who have been residing for more than five years an 11 digit number.

According to Chris Onyemenan, the director-general NIMC in a forum in Lagos to sensitize the public especially the grassroots, “We seek to bring an end to proliferation of data capture affair that has plagued our nation till now, noting that the commission have created up to 200 million data, with back-up arrangement in Lagos which are imperative.

He also said that the commission is presently operating from 44 locations across the country and the need to exercise to the grassroots across the country, saying that partnering with Local government, Military formations and other relevant institutions will help set out permanent locations that will make the registration hitch-free.
