Valuables including furniture equipment, planks and some undisclosed amount of money were burnt in the inferno.

Narrating his ordeal, the owner of the factory, Ayodele Aroge said: “Information got to me about the incident through a telephone call from a good Samaritan. All efforts to put out the fire with the support of neighbours and other sympathizers were in futility as the inferno was beyond our capacity.”

He added that when the fire service personnel arrived, there was little they could do, as the fire has gone out of hands.

The cause of the fire outbreak is still unknown as it was gathered that there had been no electricity supply to the town in the last three days.

Aroge further disclosed that, neither he nor any of his staff had burnt any substance that could have warranted the inferno.

According to him, “several working machines like; drilling machine, regular machine, socket machine, cutting machine were all burnt with house materials.

“In estimation, all that were lost to the fire outbreak, including the building would be about N15million naira.”

Aroge however called on the state government and other well-meaning Nigerians to come to his aid as the factory is his main source of livelihood.

Some people who came to sympathise with the factory owner, Taye Adu, Laolu Suleiman and Taibat Adeyemo expressed dismay and wondered why the factory was gutted by fire without affecting nearby houses.

The chairman of Ikere local lovernment area, Ola Alonge expressed dismay at the development and described the owner of the factory as a hardworking man.

He promised to unravel the mystery behind the inferno, adding that there will be an investigation into the matter.

“I have directed security agencies to investigate the matter and come up with their report, as soon as they are through with their findings, we will know what to do“, the council boss stated.
