As workers in the state continue to cry foul over the non payment of salaries, the Kaduna state government today revealed that it has concluded plans to settle the three months outstanding salaries being owed to about 2,742 civil servants in a few days time.

The state commissioner for finance, Abdul Kwari announced this while briefing journalists today.

Abdul Kwari explained that the move to settle the salary arrears followed the delay and other hitches encountered  in the on-going verification of civil servants by the Kaduna State Government, a situation he attributed to bank protocols that has  made it difficult for the affected workers to receive their salaries.

He stated that the 2,742 civil servants that will receive their three months salary arrears are those that have been cleared by the office of the Head of Service having undergone the verification exercise.

He assures that the delay in the payment of workers salaries in the state would be a thing of the past  as soon as the verification exercise is completed.

It could be revealed that since the inception of the present administration in the state civil servants has been made to undertake  a verification exercise which the government said would help fish out  ghost workers.
