CEOAFRICA gathered that Bank of Industry (BoI) Managing Director/CEO, Evelyn Oputu, has urged women to take empowerment opportunities offered by LAPO Microfinance Bank at the launching of Supporting Female Entrepreneurs (SUFEN) an initiative by LAPO in commemoration of the world poverty day yesterday.

According to sources, Oputu expressed concerned about gender inequality experience in the country and other developing countries. She was worried that in the developing world women have not been able to contribute economically as expected because their dreams are dashed as a result of legislations that are depressing to women.

While speaking on the initiative, Godwin Ehigamusoe, Managing Director of LAPO, said that SUFEN aims to support female entrepreneurs with the potential for growing their business by providing funds of an appropriate size, management and counselling support.
