As the world marks the population Day, the Nigerian association of Women journalists, NAWOJ Oyo State Council has charged parents and guardians to monitor their wards properly most especially the girl child to guide against teenage pregnancy and other vices that could jeopardize their future. This is contained in a statement issued by the association in Ibadan oyo state capital. The association called on parents and guardians to take up the responsibilities of their children.
The statement further enjoined parents to serve as role models to their children and educate them on the need to guide against unwanted pregnancy which is a major factor for high rate of maternal and child mortality. Oyo Nawoj urged parents to pay unscheduled visits to their children in higher institutions as a way of inculcating discipline into them..
The statement called on government at all levels to introduce moral and health education into the curriculum of both public and private schools in the country. The association also advised the federal
