Yesterday, the Nigerian Senate President, David Mark, unveiled the logo for the first Africa Legislative Summit holding in Abuja.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the summit scheduled for November 11-13 will be anchored by the National Institute for Legislative Studies (NILS). The theme of the summit is “Emerging Legislatures in Africa: Opportunities and Challenges.”

Speaking about the summit, Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba said that the summit would provide an avenue for African parliamentarians to interact and share ideas and experiences on democracies and economies.

While unveiling the logo, Senator Mark explained that parliamentarians should always equip themselves so as to enhance good governance and effective legislation:

“Members of parliament need to develop confidence and a sense of commonality across the African region. MPs need to define Africa’s interests and realise those interest within the global communities.

“It is my hope and aspiration that the summit becomes an influential and effective institution in African and global politics.

“We should do all we can to ensure that the summit becomes sustainable,” Mark said.
