OYO STATE GOVERNMENT APPOINTS SIX NEW JUDGES INTO ITS JUDICIARY

The Oyo State Government has announced the appointment of six new judges into the State Judiciary on Wednesday.

CEOAFRICA gathered according to the statement by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ojo Adebayo, that the appointment was sequel to the recommendation by the National Judiciary Commission, NJC.

Adebayo said the new state judicial officers include the Chief Registrar of the State High Court, O.O. Olatunji, Bayo Taiwo from the Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja and the immediate past Vice Chairman of the Ibadan branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, Lekan.

He listed the rest to also include G. A. Sunmonu, O. M. Fadeyi and E. O. Ajayi, all Ibadan-based private legal practitioners.

The current appointment of six additional judges however brings the total number in Oyo State Judiciary to 22.
