Vice President Namadi Sambo had yesterday advised opposition parties to allow democracy to thrive in the country and avoid actions that could truncate democracy.

Namadi Sambo gave this advice in Abuja after the inauguration of the Anambra campaign committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the National Chairman of the party, Bamangar Tukur.

The Vice President speaking as the head of the inaugurated Campaign Committee assured that the PDP on its part would ensure that all elections are free and fair and in line with President Goodluck Jonathan’s efforts to ensure all elections are free and fair.

“The PDP is the party for Nigeria; the PDP is the party for Anambra State. We witness our President in Jerusalem pray for our country and all this success we have been achieving is from the name of our leader, Goodluck. God’s grace this name will go with us and we are going to deliver Anambra state,” the vice president said.

Sambo however pleaded with dissenting members to return to the PDP saying “all members of PDP should bury the hatchet and come back to deliver Anambra State for PDP”.
