CEOAFRICA.com gathered that over 25 pupils collapsed yesterday after inhaling chemical waste allegedly discharged by a company in Lagos State.

Affected pupils are of Ogba Junior Secondary School, while the alleged company that disposed the raid was identified as Bizcircuit Photo Laboratory at Ogba Shopping Plaza, Lagos.

According to sources, the incident draws the attention of school authorities and parents who ran to salvage the situation by calling on officials of various state emergency management agencies who converged on the scene to rescue the unconscious pupils to Blue Cross Hospital and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

Speaking with reporters at the scene of the incident, Head of Logistics, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Mr. Femi Giwa, said four of the affected pupils were in critical condition, but they are responding to treatment.

He said on the arrival at the scene, his team discovered that the liquid waste discharged has offensive and chocking odour. It was used in the laboratory to produce photos and the odour permeated the environment thus triggering the incident.
