Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji
From Umuahia, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has lifted embargo on civil service employment in the state.
Revealing this to newsmen, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, said the decision was taken by the government to reposition the state’s economy.
According to him, those to benefit from the waiver for employment include Abians, especially youths and those who returned from the northern part of Nigeria due to security problems.
Others to benefit from the waiver for employment, according to him, are non-indigenes disengaged from the state’s civil service in 2011.
Governor Orji earlier revealed that an appreciable increase in the internally generated revenue of the state has offered him the opportunity to absorb fresh graduates and non-indigenes that were disengaged in 2011.
