From Nasarawa, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that members of the state House of Assembly have indicted Governor Tanko Al-Makura of extra budget expenses of N3 billion.

This was disclosed by the House Committee Chairman on Public Accounts, Francis Orogo (PDP-Keana Constituency), who added that the action was unconstitutional and could be interpreted as financial misappropriation.

According to Mr.Orogu, three departments of the executive namely; the Government House, Deputy Governor’s office and the office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, allegedly misappropriate N3 billion which was not part of the budget.

He disclosed that the house will be left with no choice, but to impeach the governor if found guilty of the misappropriation.

‪”We will remove (the Governor) if a case of misappropriation is established,” Mr. Orogu said.

House Committee on Health also indicted the Executive for spending N24 million, on Mararraba Medical Centre, which was not in the budget.

Chairman, House Committee on Health, Abdulkarim Usman (PDP-Wamba Constituency), also disclosed that the state government had spent an extra N30 million on the ongoing construction of the medical centre, located along Shendam Road, Lafia.

‪At the end of its sitting, the House set up a committee to harmonise reports submitted by various committees, including Public Accounts, Health, Local Government and Capital Market.
