The final match of the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup got off to a sparkling start as the Mexicans piled up pressure on their Nigerian counterparts with series of spectacular display that got shiver running down the spines of the supporters of Africans.

However, the Eaglets, through the brilliancy of goalkeeper Dele Alampasu rendered their efforts useless and in the 9th minutes, Nigeria got the first goal when E. Aguerra mistakenly put the ball in his own net following nice pass from Taiwo Awoniyi and pressure from Musa Yahaya.

The Eaglets then had series of missed chances, especially from Musa Yahaya, whose back-flip nearly got the second goal of the match.

When the second half started, the Eaglets displayed football artistries and mesmerizes their opponent by teaching them serious football lesson, and in the 56th minutes, Musa Mohammed’s shot was too hot to handle for the Mexican goalkeeper to handle, as Kelechi Iheanacho tap in from a rebound to make it 2-0.

In the 81st minutes, Musa Mohammed scored the third from a spectacular free-kick, as the Africans cruised to their fourth World title.

Golden Eaglets also won the fair-play trophy, while Kelechi Iheanacho won the Silver Boot with 6 goals, Berisha of Sweden won the Golden Boot, and Dele Alampasu won the  Golden Gloves as the best goalkeeper of the tournament.

Kelechi Iheanacho undoubtedly won the Golden Ball Award as the best player of the tournament.
