Tunisia: Tunisia National Dialogue to commence next week

Tunisia- The quartet sponsor of national dialogue in Tunisia has called for a consensus around the axes of the road map in such a manner as to resume dialogue early next week.

Following the meeting held on Tuesday at the Carthage palace, Caretaker President of the Republic, Mohamed Moncef Marzouki and Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union, Houcine Abbassi, has said that the national dialogue will resume next week.

Mr. Houcine who voiced optimism of resolving the disputed themes and reach a consensus likely to guarantee the success of the dialogue, also underlined the support of the Republic to achieve success of the national dialogue adding that the presidency will respect consensus to come out of the national dialogue on the new Prime Minister.

Focus of today’s meeting was on the means of resumption in the shortest means of terms, of the national dialogue and how to overcome difficult situation faced by the country.

The statement further said that consultations also revolves around means to review the amendments brought to the internal rules of the National Constituent Assembly and the situation of the Independent High Authority for Election following recent decision of the administrative court.
