I Wish to Play For FC Barcelona, Says Kelechi Iheanacho

After displaying splendid performance at the just concluded 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in United Arab Emirates, Golden Eaglets playmaker, Kelechi Iheanacho, has revealed that he will like to play for Spanish giant, FC Barcelona in future.

Iheanacho, who shown like a million star at the biennial event, won the Golden Ball award as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, and the Silver Boot as the second highest goal scorer with six goals for the eventual winner, Nigeria.

The player, according to source, said he hope to further his carrier in Europe and very soon, join FC Barcelona:

“I cannot pick a club or country now, but my preferred club is Barcelona, but I know that I cannot play for them now at this age but someday I may get that opportunity,” he said.

Meanwhile, several clubs are currently scrambling for the signature of Iheanacho, a sources revealed that over seven agents met at the team’s hotel in the UAE to finally agree that all of them would get percentage of the player’s transfer fee, as they had authentic mandates given to them by his handlers.

According to a source, an offer of N250, 000 Euros from FC Porto was dismissed outrightly because the father of Iheanacho insisted that any club interested in the boy should be ready to cough out at least one million Euro (over N200 million ) or look elsewhere.
