ALIYU BABANGIDA DOLES OUT N20M, PLOTS OF LAND OVER GOLDEN EAGLETS VICTORY

Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, Governor of Niger State, presented a whopping sum of N20 million to the players and officials of the Golden Eaglets as well as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their victory at the just concluded FIFA Under-17 World Cup.

At a dinner which he organized in honour of the team at the Hon. Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, the Niger State Governor pointed out that the team deserves to be celebrated for lifting the image of the country.

He further said it is gratifying to note that the team was exemplary throughout the competition, stressing that with their performance, the youngsters gave Nigeria a positive image throughout the world.

The Niger State Governor gave a cash gift of N12m and N5m respectively to the players and technical crew, N3m cash gift to accompanying NFF’s board members and officials, as well as gift of a plot of land to each member of the team as part of activities marking his 58th birthday anniversary.

Aliyu however urged the young team to remain focused and never relent in their effort, noting that they should not neglect their education which is very important and also advising the NFF to keep the team intact for future challenges.
