The former South African President, Nelson Mandela who has been on admission in the hospital for recurring lung infection has turned 95 today being Thursday 18 July, 2013.

The scene of the celebration of one of the world most revered statesmen was really glamour to behold as millions of school pupils and members of the public sang “Happy Birthday Madiba” and South Africans from all woks of life very enthusiastic while paying tribute to their national hero.

Prior to his birthday, birthday wishes from members of the public has been pouring in with people visiting daily to drop off cards, flowers and decorations wishing the former statesman well.

However, Mandela’s daughter, Zindzi Mandela-Motlhajwa speaking on his father’s state of health has said that he is making a remarkable recovery in Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital in Pretoria.

South Africans and people around the world have been called on to observe the day by giving at least 67 minutes of their time to help create a better tomorrow for all.
