Bauchi Police Highlights Achievements in November

The month of November has been a busy but successful one for police officers in Bauchi State as the Bauchi State Police Command has, during its monthly review, enumerated some of its achievements in November.

These successful endeavours of fighting crime in Bauchi by the Police, was highlighted in a press release signed by the Ag PPRO Bauchi State Police, SP Haruna Mohammed and made available to CEOAfrica. The recorded cases which will be of interest to members of the public are as follows:

 The first case is “Arrest of Suspected Kidnappers/Armed Robbery Syndicate and Recovery of Arms”. On the 17/11/2016 at about 17:30hrs, Police detectives attached to Anti-kidnapping unit of the Command arrested some gang members terrorizing Ganjuwa Bauchi axis. Those arrested were; Adamu Abubakar, a 20 year old male Yau Samaila, an 18 year old male; Musa Sale, a 25 year old male; Ibrahim Haruna, a 22 year old male, all from Burku Village in Ganjuwa LGA of Bauchi State.

The suspects threatened one Hussaini Samaila, a 20 year old male of Burku Village in Ganjuwa LGA of Bauchi State on phone and demanded for One Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira or they will kidnap and kill his entire family members. The suspects voluntarily confessed and the following exhibits were recovered from them at the point of collecting ransom; One Fabricated Revolver Pistol; Three GSM phones used for negotiation of ransom; One vest of Criminal Charms; Two Cutlasses and two sticks. The case has been charged to Court for prosecution.

The second case is “Arrest of Kidnap/Rape Suspect, Rescue of Hostage and Recovery of Arms/Ammunition”. On the 11/11/2016 at about 0:400hrs, Police detectives attached to the Command Anti-kidnapping unit in collaboration with local hunters arrested one Rabo Mohammed a 30 years of Guggu village in Toro LGA of Bauchi State. The suspect along with his accomplices now at large, kidnapped one Maryam Yusuf, a 30 year old female of Jirim village in Toro LGA of Bauchi State.

The victim who was sexually assaulted by the kidnappers was rescued after intense gun battle at the point of collecting ransom and was rushed to ATBU Teaching hospital for medical attention. Meanwhile, the following exhibits were recovered from the suspect; One Single Barrel Gun and One cartridge. The case under investigation and efforts are being intensified to apprehend other fleeing accomplices.

The third case is "Arrest of Kidnapping /Homicide Suspect". On the 18/11/2016 at about 18:30hrs, following intelligence report and painstaking surveillance, Detectives attached to Anti-kidnapping /SARS Bauchi Command  arrested one Mohammed Ibrahim, a 25 years old male of Tafawa Balewa LGA at Liman Katagun Forest in Bauchi State. The suspect with two others now at large invaded Ganjuwa village in Ganjuwa LGA on the 11/11/2016 at about 0003hrs and killed one Muhammadu Mamman, a 75 year old male of the same address when he resisted to be kidnapped. The Suspects further threatened and demanded for a ransom of One Million Naira from the deceased’s son or they would kill him like his father if he refused. The exhibits recovered include; One Machete and knife; One motorcycle; One handset used in calling the complainant and a Sim pack. The case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.

The fourth case is “Arrest of Wanted Kidnapping Suspects”. On the 22/11/2016 at about 1600hrs, following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Anti-kidnapping unit of command arrested one Mohammed Baha';i a 55 year old male of Zaranda village and Adamu Dula Mohammed a 28 year old male of the same address. The suspects were involved in series of kidnappings, including the recent abduction of one Aisha Shehu a 22 year old female and Fatima Shehu, a 13 year old female of Waba village in Toro LGA of Bauchi State where One Million Naira ransom was paid before their release. The case is still under investigation.

The fifth case is “Arrest of Suspected Armed Robber/Cattle Rustlers”. On the 27/11/2016 at about 14:30hrs, Joint Police vigilante group attached to Toro Division  arrested the following; Haruna Yusuf, a 25 year old; Lawali Rabiu a 20 year old male; Usman Shehu a 20 year old male all of Rauta. The suspects stormed the house on one Samaila Alhaji Saidu a 40 year old male of Bakin Ruwa village, shooting sporadically and inflicted injury on his head. They made away with Twenty Six (26) Cows; One Ram and one sheep. Meanwhile, all the exhibits were recovered and case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.

The sixth case is “Arrest of Suspected Ritualist who attempted to kill His Grandmother”. On the 23/11/2016 at about 14:00hrs, Police detectives attached to Tafawa Balewa Division arrested One Nentawe Justice of Ngyalang Village, Plateau State. The Suspect went to his grandmother';s farm in Mhirim Kwafa village of Tafawa Balewa LGA wearing a face mask and attempted to kill her .She raised alarm and he fled but was later arrested in Bauchi. Meanwhile, he has voluntarily confessed and mentioned three of his accomplices still at large who promised to pay him One Million Naira if he produced a Human Head. The case is under investigation.

Finally, the Command urged members of the Public not to relent in providing useful information that may assist the Police in making the State safe and secured.
