LAGOS FIXES DECEMBER 7 FOR 2013 SEAFOOD FESTIVAL

The 2013 edition of the annual Lagos Seafood Festival organized by the state ministry of agriculture and cooperatives, with the support of some private organizations has been scheduled for December 7, along the Bar Beach waterfront in Victoria Island.

The commissioner for agriculture and cooperatives, Gbolahan Lawal, who briefed the media on the event, the second in the series, said more than 3,000 participants were expected from within and outside the country.

The festival has been programmed to feature cooking competition while local fishermen, processors, marketers, restraint operators, pepper sellers among others will be expected to exhibit their produce.

However, according to Lawal, the festival is packaged to celebrate Lagos traditional delicacies and maritime heritage as well as stimulate the investment potential of Lagos in relation to aquaculture and artisanal fisheries.
