The Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command on the 29th November 2013, paraded two robbery suspects, Chukwueze David and Adegboyega Babatunde attached to incessant robbery attack at Oduono area of Ibadan.

The suspects who were paraded during a press briefing conveyed on the 3rd November at the Police Head Quarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, by the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, Mohammed Indabawa were said to be arrested at the scene of a robbery attack at Oduono area of Ibadan.

The police reported that the members of the said community where the robberies was carried out handed the two men over the police after they had found a sharp knife and a motorcycle in the custody of the two at the scene shortly after the attack.

The report stated that the suspects, who denied having connection with the robbery, could not explain the reason for the knife found in their possession.

Meanwhile, the community complained to the police that the robbers involved in the attacks had always escaped on bike and that one victim (name of the woman withheld), after being robbed was attacked with a knife.

The two suspects moreover, when interviewed, denied having part in the crime for which they were arrested, stating that they were both church members and were going to see someone when some men harassed, beat them up and subsequently handed them over the police for a crime they know nothing about.

Defending the knife found in his possession, one of the suspect, Adegboyega Babatunde said that the knife was for self defence, stressing that he had been attacked and injured severally by some criminals and was just holding the knife to defend himself should such occur.

However, the police at the Eleye Police Head Quarter has said that the suspects who are still in their custody will be charged to court for the alleged crime.
