Cameroonian player, Christian Bassogog, was named Total Man of the Competition after helping his country win the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in Gabon.

According to Ceoafrica, the prize is given to the Most Valuable Player of the prestigious tournament and the 21-year-old winger walked away with the accolade yesterday.

Bassogog and his Cameroon team-mates stunned Egypt 2-1 in the final at the Stade de I’Amitie to clinch the Indomitable Lions’ fifth AFCON title.

The AaB winger was instrumental for Cameroon throughout the tournament as they recorded important wins over Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Ghana and Egypt.

Meanwhile, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) forward, Junior Kabananga walked away with the 2017 AFCON Golden Boot after netting three goals.

The tournament runners-up Egypt, who remain the most decorated nation in AFCON history with seven titles, were awarded the Fair Play prize.
