The United Nations Security Council has assured the Multinational Joint Task Force of continued friendship and partnership between the two agencies.
This assurance was given during the weekend by the head of delegation of United Nations Security Council, His Excellency, Amb Mathew Rycroft during a working visit by the council to the Headquarters Complex of the MNJTF at N’Djamena, Chad.

According to a statement signed by the Military Public Relations Officer, Colonel Mustapha Anka and made available to CEOAfrica, the UN envoy appreciated the Commander of MNJTF, Major General Lamidi Oyebayo Adeosun for a warm reception, impressive presentation and for the roles played by the force.
The leader of the delegation also took advantage of the forum to encourage the task force to keep up the impressive record and to work harder in order to finally achieve their mandate.

The force commander while expressing his delight at hosting members of the UN Security Council said “We are privileged to have you here and we thank the Security Council for the honour accorded to the MNJTF.
“We also appreciate them for their interest in the activities of the force to bring Boko Haram terrorists to their knees in conjunction to the national operation of the member countries of Lake Chad Basin and Republic of Benin.”

The event which featured detailed explanation on the activities of the MNJTF and interactive session was attended by the Deputy Force Commander, Brigadier General Moussa Mahamat Djoui, the Chief Staff, Colonel Major Sayed Badje, staff of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and Chief of cells, MNJTF.
