In view of the economic recession, the Managing Director of Bank of Industry (BOI), Mr Waheed Olagunju, has said that the increasing population of youths in the country are weapons Nigeria can use against the economic recession.
According to Ceoafrica, he spoke in Lagos at the launch of the Youth Ignite project, which was the co-initiative of his bank and First Bank Plc designed to empower one million youth entrepreneurs annually in the country
He explained that his bank keyed into the scheme because it believed it was capable of engaging the youths in productive venture which would go a long way in alleviating the current recession in the country.
In her remarks, the Chairman of First Bank Plc, Mrs Ibukun Awosika, emphasised the need to engage the youth in productive venture to add value to the economic development of the country.
She maintained that it was necessary for the youth to exhibit their knowledge and ideas towards executing critical decisions in the country.
