Katsina State Governor Presents N113.6 Billion Appropriation Bill For 2014

NIGERIA-Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema, has presented, on Wednesday, an Appropriation Bill of N113.6 billion for 2014 to the State House of Assembly.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the budget tagged “Budget of Social Responsibility”, has total expected revenue of N112.9 billion, with a surplus of N609 million.

While reading the budget, Shema disclosed that N32.4 billion, representing 71.45 per cent, was earmarked for recurrent expenditure, while N81.1 billion, representing 28.55 per cent was set aside for capital expenditure.

He said the budget would focus on the delivery of social services through education, infrastructure, health services, and agriculture, among others.

In his reaction to the bill, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Ya’u Gwanjo-gwajo, promised that the house will speed the passage of the budget for the development of the state, adding that the house would continue to foster unity with the Executives so as to bring the dividend of democracy to the people of Katsina State.
