The new commissioner for sport in Oyo State, Honorable Umar Farouk Alao has reiterated the determination of the Senator Abiola Ajimobi led administration in the state in moving sports to very enviable position by prioritizing grassroots development as major area of focus.

Honorable Farouk who stated this in Ibadan also declared that he is ready to fully take up the challenge of reviving youth sports in the state and reiterated the determination of the present administration in the state to give priority to grassroots development.

 The commissioner disclosed that he is out to implement the governor’s vision for sports in Oyo State, which he said has to be total attention to every aspect of the sector.

He stressed that the governor’s determination to turn things around in Oyo State appeared evident in his appointment, which he vowed is to complement the governor’s good work that started since the administration came into office in 2011.

The  commissioner explained that the Governor has resolved to develop youths in the state through basic means of human development which sports plays a major role adding that they are not going to leave any stone unturned when they fully swing into action

Speaking on the various transformations currently being witnessed across the state, the commissioner noted that it shows that the governor is a man who has the interest and well being of the people at heart.

He then called on all sports stakeholders and followers in the state to support the governor and his team in his transformation drive across the state.
