NIGERIA (Abuja) – A vote of confidence has been passed by Governors and House of Representatives Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the embattled National Chairman, Alh. Bamanga Tukur.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered from sources that the above decision was taken after series of meetings which was led by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio, has ended early hours of Friday in Abuja.

The meeting, which took place at the Akwa Ibom government lodge, also had in attendance Tukur`s Deputy, Mr. Uche Secondus.

Tukur consequently moved from the meeting with the governors to meet with the party`s House of Representatives members at another venue.

Speaking about the meeting with House of Representatives Members, the House Leader, Mulikat Adeola Akande said it was meant to create a synergy between the House leader, PDP House of Representatives members and the party leadership.

She further said the decision to pass a vote of confidence on Tukur was to show that PDP was one strong family.
