Prof. Sani Dangoggo has been appointed  as the new Vice Chancellor of the Sokoto State University, following  the expiration of the tenure of Prof. Nuhu Yaqoob.

Dangoggo was until his new appointment, the Director, Sokoto Energy Research Centre, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

A statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Bashir Garba,  stated  that Governor Aminu Tambuwal also  approved the appointment of Prof. Zayyanu Umar and Prof. Nasiru Ibrahim, as the new Deputy Vice

Chancellors, Academic and Administration, respectively.

It added that  the appointment of the Registrar of the University, Mrs Amina Garba was renewed . It is the second and final term.

According to the statement, the appointments were in line with the powers conferred on the governor by the Sokoto State University Law, 2009, as amended.

 Professor Umar was ,Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and Prof.   Ibrahim,  a Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture.
