Troops nab wanted Boko Haram kingpin ‘Pepper’

Abubaka Adamu aka ‘Pepper’, a  Boko  Haram  commander  was on Sunday arrested by Troops of 233 Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army .

This was disclosed in a statement by

Brigadier-General SK Usman, Director of Army Public Relations.

According to the statement, the 35-year old premium terrorist was arrested by troops stationed at “Forward Operation Base,” in Potiskum, Yobe State.

He was arrested, with the assistance from local vigilantes around New Prison area of Potiskum.

Pepper has been involved in carrying out attacks and other terror-related activities around the northeastern part of the country.

In a similar development, the Army also announced that troops of 231and 331 Battalions jointly foiled an armed robbery attempt at Chanchara village in Shani Local Government Area, where they recovered an AK-47 rifle, machetes, and ammunition.
