National Leader of Accord Party and former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja has urged political leaders in the country to render selfless service that will give hope to Nigerians.

He said only through altruism can Nigerians have faith in the country and its

leadership. The former governor in a Christmas message where he congratulated people of Oyo state, Christians in particular and Nigerians in general for seeing this season, tasked Nigerian politicians to give hope to the Nigerians masses who have entrusted their lives to the leadership.

According to him, the birth of Jesus christ symbolised hope and brought good life.He said leaders at all levels must shun selfish pursuit of economic armour to the detriment of the masses adding that the birth of Jesus brought succour. Ladoja urged all Nigerians to use the season to pray for a peaceful 2014 as the country enters another track of politicking and elections.

The Accord party leader further thanked the people of Oyo State for identifying with the thumb party urging them to persevere as all the losses they have suffered will be restored under a new political arrangement in 2015.

"At this time of the year, the message of the birth of jesus christ is that there is hope for the world.  What we then need to do is to give hope to our people by listening to them and giving them what they need without been prompted.

"All these challenges of insecurity, unemployment, strikes, pipeline vandalism and corruption will be a thing of the past if all politicians and private concerns become altruistic and sacrifice selflessly rather than becoming selfish through accumulation of commonwealth for personal aggrandizement," he said.
