Kanu Sponsors Four Heart Patients To India For Surgery

Famous former Super Eagles skipper, Nwankwo Kanu, has sponsored four Nigerians with heart related ailments to India for surgeries under the auspices of “Kanu Heart Foundation.”

According to what CEOAFRICA sports desk gathered, the beneficiaries jetted out of the country on Boxing Day, December 26, 2013.

In his speech, Kanu said: "The gesture is a form of Christmas gift to the beneficiaries", adding that Nigerians should "please pray for the patients so that they can undergo successful operations."

Though Kanu did not disclose the total cost of flying the patients to India as well as other logistics involved, it was gathered that the trip was all expensed paid by the foundation. They will be treated at Vikram Hospital, Max Hospital and Fortis Hospital, all in India.

Papilo further disclosed that the Heal A Heart lottery promotion embarked upon by the foundation is still in progress with the tickets available at all Eco bank branches across the country at a cost of just N100.

"The promo of the Heal A Heart lottery is still going on. We want to raise funds for the Kanu Cardiac Hospital in Abuja so that we will start to carry out heart operations here in Nigeria", Papilo stressed.
