The Director of Distance Learning Centre (DLC), University of Ibadan, Professor Oyesoji Aremu is scheduled to make an appearance at CEOAfrica, an online media platform, on Thursday 6th July, 2017 by 10am.
The Professor of Counselling and Criminal Justice Studies in the Institute for Peace and Criminal Justice Studies, University of Ibadan, who will be featuring as a guest on ‘Community Today’, an educative and informative programme airing on CEOAfrica online television, will discuss issues relating to distance learning education in Nigeria.
The media chat which would hold at the CEOAfrica Building at 24, Kudeti Avenue, Onireke, Ibadan, will witness the presence of journalists from other media organisations who will engage the Professor on various education-related topics.
Prior to his recent appointment as the Director of DLC in the University of Ibadan, Professor Aremu was the first Deputy Director (Academic), Distance Learning Centre, a position he held from 22nd February, 2011 to 11th February, 2017.
Professor Aremu has held other positions in the University. He was the Sub-Dean (Undergraduate), Faculty of Education from 1st August, 2001 to 31st July, 2003; He was the Sub-Dean (Postgraduate), Faculty of Education from 1st August, 2008 to 31st July, 2009. He was also at different periods Assistant Warden and Warden, Nnamdi Azikwe Hall of the University (2004 to 2006, 2009 to 2010 and 2010 to 2011).
The erudite Scholar who also consults for the Nigerian Police Force has conducted numerous researches and has publications that cover police and policing reforms, academic performance, counselling and criminal justice studies, and recently, open and distance education.
