The frequent assault of female children which is paving way through the society is becoming detrimental for the female gender and it will persist if nothing is done to address this issue.
Another case of a 33-year old man, Philip sambo has been brought before an Ikeja chief magistrate’s court on Thursday for purportedly fingering his neighbour’s seven- year old daughter.
“Sambo committed the offence sometimes in June at his residence, No.1, Adesina St Shasha, a surburb of Lagos,” said the prosecutor.
Insp. Cliford Ogu, the prosecutor further stated that the accused carried out this act when the little girl came to see a movie in his apartment and he threatened to kill the girl if she tells anyone.
Hence, it came to the notice of the girl’s mother that her daughter was feeling pains in her private part while she was bathing her. The little girl had no choice but to voice out that “it was Uncle that touch the place.”
However, sambo pleaded not guilty.
Mrs Taiwo Akanni, the chief magistrate, granted the accused bail with a sum of 100,000 and a surety with the same amount.
The case was thereby adjourned to July 17.
