An 8-year old marriage to be dissolved between Mrs Yetunde Ibukunlayo and her husband, Sola over lack of care, constant beating and threat to life by Ado- Ekiti Customary Court.

Yetunde said her husband is a wicked man who always threatens to kill her each time they had misunderstanding.

She further explained how she met her husband in 2006, how he promised to pay her bride price and marry her legally but till now he has not kept the promise.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the complainant told the court that the respondent often beats and curses her whenever she caught him having extra marital affairs with his ex-wife, who left him some years ago.

The respondent was said to have left home since 2013, leaving his wife and children.

Yetunde said that she reported him to his parents and elder brothers, but all effort for him to come home or change his bad ways prove abortive.

She stated that she decided to take up the responsibility of her children without the support of the respondent.

She further told the court that her husband ruined her medicine business, which landed her in huge debt when he came to her shop few weeks after he left home to destroyed her goods worth N100,000.

“My husband threatens to kill me if i do not reconcile with him and I do not want to die young. I pray the court to please dissolve our marriage,” she said.

The court president, Mrs Olayinka Akomolede, after hearing the complainant, adjourned the case till August 2, for further hearing.
