All roads led to International College of Arts, Science and Technology (ICAST) School on the 15th of July 2017 as the school hosted dignitaries from all works of life at the commissioning of its ultramodern hostel and link roads, at the hostel premises off Oluyole extension, Elebu Ibadan.
ICAST which was founded in September 2011 is an institution for discovery, pursuance, achievement of set goals, as well as an educational institution for future leaders and a citadel of learning which started as a foundation school from crèche through to secondary education with the vision of giving sound education background to children.
The Deputy Governor, Otunba Moses Adeyemo who represented the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi in his speech while he was commissioning the ultramodern hostel and link roads said, he is highly impressed and happy at what Engr. Dotun has done, because this is the first time he is seeing such in Oyo state being done by an individual, comparing the hostel to the ones he had seen Abroad, most especially, the road done is not Asphalt but pure concrete which is over 3 kilometres and he prayed that the Almighty God will multiply his investments in million folds, because of his contribution to the development of the state.
However, he appealed to the residents of Oyo state to emulate Engr. Dotun so as to assist the government. "Education is not the full responsibility of the government but it is the corporation of the parents, teachers, the poor, the rich, and that is why we have what is called the school governing board so that everybody can participate in financing our schools, in the 60s/70s when there was free education, the number of students then were very few compared to now,” the deputy stated.
Engr. Dotun Sanusi, Chairman/Proprietor of the school said in his speech “we are prepared to reach the height, where our children will have the necessary education to meet the demands of the future leadership of our great nation. We have what it takes and are prepared to achieve this, God willing.” In his vision statement, Engr Sanusi further explained what inspired the establishment of the school, which is to give the necessary platform for high quality and affordable education with the vision for excellence and to rank with the best educational institutions of its type internationally.
The chairman of the school went further to appreciate the leadership of the Oyo state government for taking priority in the security of the state which enables one to operate without fear. “Our governor is a motivator, because when he got into power, he appealed to many of us in the oil and gas sector to give back to the state because only the government cannot shoulder the responsibility of the state,” Engr. Dotun said.
Hon. Oladele Olatunbosun said he is elated and delighted, because this is not the first time Engr. Dotun is doing such, and he said further that he is sure that he will continue the good works and others will emulate because no matter what we do for our community, it is not too much, and no matter how big, it is never enough.
Dignitaries present at the event include; the Governor of Oyo state, His Excellency Sen. Abiola Ajimobi who was represented by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Otunba Moses Alake Adeyemo, Hon. Oladele Olatunbosun, member House of Representatives Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, the Commissioner for Education Oyo state amongst others.
