PDP in the North West Declares Support for President Jonathan

NIGERIA (Kaduna) – Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the North-West Zone of the country, has expressed their support for the Goodluck Jonathan led administration.

The PDP stakeholders, comprising members from the National Working Committee of the Party, State and Zonal executive committees, party elders, legislators and members of state and federal executives, from Kano, Zamfara and Sokoto States, made this declaration in a press release after they paid a courtesy call on the Vice President, Namadi Sambo on Thursday at the Hassan Usman Katsina House, Kaduna.

The group said they were in Kaduna to felicitate with the Vice President on the New Year and to brief him on situation reports in their states.

According to the statement read by Aminu Wali from Kano State, the party leaders expressed confidence in the leadership of President Jonathan.

“We call on our teeming supporters to remain calm and focused and to continue to work for the greatest party in Africa, which is the party to beat,” he said

The delegation included the deputy governor of Sokoto State, Mukhtar Shagari, former governors, lawmakers, and other.

The vice president thanked the delegation for the visit and urged them to sustain the tempo in ensuring that the party waxes stronger in the zone.
