NIGERIA (Ekiti) – A two-month ultimatum has been issued by the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Ekiti State to contractors handling various projects across the state to complete and deliver their jobs or face the wrath of the law.

This ultimatum was issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Development Relations, Bunmi Dipo-Salami at a meeting with the contractors in Ado-Ekiti.

She said the contractors have been paid the necessary incentives and there is no reason why they should complain about not meeting up with the deadline.

The aide said that the projects would be funded though a tripartite arrangement involving the Federal, State and Local Governments.

Mrs. Dipo-Salami advised contractors to be committed to their jobs and strive toward achieving a cordial relationship with the MDGs office built on trust and mutual respect.

The projects being executed by the Ekiti State MDGs Scheme include drilling of bore holes, construction of blocks of classrooms, procurement of ambulances and medical equipment.

The others include renovation of health facilities, rehabilitation of rural roads among others in the local government areas of the state.
