ZIMBABWE – Lloyd Zvaita, a 30-year Old man, has lost his Toyota Vitz worth US$3 800 to a prostitute he had hired for the night on New Year's Day, in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.

The incident occurred between 3 am and 4am at Tudor Court in Avondale. The vehicle registration number ACS 8737 has not yet been recovered.

While confirming the incident, Harare Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Tadius Chibanda said the complainant picked the commercial sex worker at Centurian Bar in the city and he drove to his flat.

He said the prostitute was only identified as Patience and Zvaita went parked the vehicle outside his flat.

“The two went inside the house where they became intimate before Zvaita fell asleep.

"He later woke up at around 4.50am and discovered that Patience had disappeared. He failed to locate the car keys," Insp Chibanda said.

Zvaita went outside and could not locate his car.

Nothing has been recovered and police are still looking for the suspect and the vehicle.

This is not the first case in which prostitutes have stolen from their 'clients'.

Most prostitutes have also been known to connive with criminals to either steal or rob people countrywide.

Police have been for the past few years carrying out raids in the city arresting prostitutes.

Some of them were released after being fined while others appeared before the courts.
