Reports reaching the Sports Desk of CEOAFRICA online news stated that English Premiership side, Cardiff City, has rekindled interest in Super Eagles and Fernebahce of Turkey defender, Joseph Yobo.

It was gathered that as part of efforts to strengthening its defence department which has conceded 33 goals in the current league campaign, managements of the Welsh side is considering bringing Yobo to assist with his wealth of experience, having spent eight seasons playing for Everton.
The 33-year-old has struggled for playing time under new Fenerbahçe manager Ersun Yanal and has only made one league appearance this season.

Fenerbahçe are facing pressure as competition for foreign spaces increase.

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) introduced a ruling last summer only permitting 10 foreign players per-club and allowing only six foreign players on the field at any one time for the 2013-14 season.

Cardiff came close to signing Yobo last summer however, the 33-year-old was reluctant to move away from Istanbul due to his family having settled into life in Turkey.

"My son goes to school in Istanbul and my family is happily settled in the city. I have no intentions of leaving," Yobo said.

Yobo is now reported to be open to a move in order to boost his chances of earning a recall to the Nigerian national team ahead of World Cup 2014.
