BREAKING NEWS:Oyo Central cries out for Governorship seat

Oyo central Senatorial District today 26th July, clamoured for the governorship seat come 2019 gubernatorial election at a Press briefing held by the liberation Movement of Oyo Central Senatorial District of Oyo state.

Comr. Victor Oyelayo, the coordinator for Oyo Central liberty movement in his speech expressed dissatisfaction about the marginalisation of Oyo central Senatorial District in the top echelon of the Executive arm of the Oyo State government in the 4th republic of 1999 till date.

Quoting the words of Prof. Martin Guevara Urbina, Comrade Victor said “After decades of marginalisation and neglect, we need to cast our own movements, projects and ideas as a battle for relevancy in the face of historical manipulation, exploitation and oppression. We need to fight, tooth and nail, for equity in all areas of life. One point to make clear; ethnic and racial minorities are not looking for scraps or a hand-out from the old paternalistic system but an equitable, stable, and levelled playing field.”

 

 However, the movement appealed to all stakeholders, the political elites, civil societies , academia, professional organizations, artisans, market men and women as well as sociocultural organisations across the nooks and crannies of Oyo state to support in the sole aim of fighting ‘sectional marginalisation’ to stand still in the Oyo state Political scene.

“Our group is a movement, therefore our agitations shall be rigorously pursued with all morally, socially and legally acceptable best practices within and outside the state,” Comrd. Victor said. He concluded by stating that the highly sensitive political Pace setter state needs a vibrant, intellectually sound, politically experienced and a great grassroots mobiliser as Governor of Oyo state come 2019 from the Oyo central senatorial district for equity, fairness and social justices to prevail the political clime and sustain mutual coherence as a state.
