Director of development and delivery at International Institute of Tropical Agriculture during the 50 years anniversary said “IITA has made tremendous impact in the continent in terms of agriculture.”
Speaking to CEOAfrica in exclusive interview, Dr Alfred Dixon said his department is particular about research for development and scaling out of technologies they have developed. Also they are planning to partner with private sector for the growth of this innovation.
Dr. Dixon further stated that he was a cassava breeder for 28years before he became a director and over 400 improved cassava varieties have been developed in the ecology company system in Nigeria.
“IITA will continue to ensure food security in Nigeria. But we have to make sure agriculture becomes business and also ensures that there is a change of mindset amidst Youth,” he said.
