Gov Bello proposes N11bn supplementary budget

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has submitted a proposed supplementary budget of N11bn for the 2017 fiscal year to the state Assembly for approval.

The supplementary budget would take care of “certain areas of economic development that were not previously captured in the budget Bello said, adding that it would enable the administration continue in executing its projects and programmes.

The Governor in a letter sent to the Kogi State House of Assembly seeking the approval of the supplementary budget said it will also address security issues and other obvious sectors challenges that are within and outside the current approved budget.

The governor had earlier in the year signed N174,851,544.523bn appropriation bill into law after it was approved by the state assembly.

Speaker Ahmed Imam after reading the letter before his colleagues directed the Majority Leader of the House Mathew Kolawole to slate it on the order paper for consideration at the next legislative setting.

The house is expected to consider the Governor’s request when member resumes sitting on 1st August 2017.
