Bishop Alaba Job gives Episcopal benediction to Oyo First Lady

The Archbishop of Ibadan Catholic Archdiocese, Most Rev. Felix Alaba Job, on Sunday gave Episcopal benediction to the Wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, during Mass service.

 

The Archbishop during the first Sunday of the year thanksgiving service of St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral, Oke Padre, Ibadan aside blessing Mrs Ajimobi, also prayed for the administration of Senator Abiola Ajimobi and the entire people of Oyo state

 

His Grace, Most Rev. Alaba Job stated that the Sunday mass was a very important one as it commemorated the period that a star led the three wise men to Mary and baby Jesus to give him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. He reiterated that this signifies the day of visitation and prophetic revelation as well as manifestation of God's plan for the salvation of people   .

 

The Archbishop further said that the significance of the day was not lost on Mrs Ajimobi, adding that this is the reason she was in church on such a special day. His grace also urged everyone, irrespective of their belief to worship God in truth and in spirit and at every time give God a gift of good attitude.

"Good attitude is our gift to God. In every situation, we should have a good attitude   because like Christ, we will always have challenges but we should know that they are just stepping stones to breakthrough," His grace stated.

 

Speaking to news men after the service, Mrs Ajimobi said this is the period to give thanks to God for the mercy of life and enjoined people to embrace peace and allow God to direct their affairs.

She further urged people to always show care and lend a helping hand to the less privileged in the society as Christ teaches us to do.
