NIGERIA (Ogun) –A 23-year-old man, Oduwole Taiwo, has been arraigned before an Ota Senior Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing a white ram valued at N120,000.

The accused who lives at No. 34, Oremeta Jacross Road, Iyana Iyesi, Ota, is standing trial on a one-count charge of stealing the ram belonging to one Dare Dada.

Speaking during the court session, the Prosecutor, Cpl. Rosemary Brown, explained to the court that the offence was committed on December 24, 2013 at Ota.

She said investigation revealed that the accused stole a white ram worth N120, 000 and used the money to exchange for twenty raps of cocaine, an act which contravene section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Revised Law of Ogun, 2006.

Having pleaded not guilty to the charge, the Magistrate, Aliu Soneye, ordered that the accused should be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till Feb. 19, 2014.
