Two Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested in Saki

NIGERIA (Oyo) - The Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command, has arrested two suspected armed robbers in Palapala Village, Saki.

While disclosing this to CEOAFRICA correspondent, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olabisi Ilobanafor, said the team of police detectives were led by inspector Sani Koma, adding that other suspects are at large.

According to DSP Ilobanafor, the suspect were arrested on the 6th of January 2014 at about 02:30 shortly after one Yinusa Hassan of Baale Babo Isale Oke, Saki, made a distress call to the police.

The PPRO said Yinusa Hassan, while driving his Mazda pick-up vehicle with reg. Number KEH111AA from ogbooro to Saki; he was forcefully stopped with the road block mounted by the suspected robbers. In the process, the hoodlums robbed him and other passengers in the vehicle of N60, 000 cash plus other valuables.

She gave the names of suspects arrested as Mohammed Tukuru and Ali Usman who sustained fracture in his left leg and is receiving treatment at one the state general hospitals.

Items which included 20 thousand naira, a bag of cement, one bench, and a pulpit were recovered as exhibits from the arrested suspects.

The PPRO said the case has been transferred to Sars for further investigation.
